Screen

This guide helps you fine-tune screen settings to align with your climate strategy, ensuring energy efficiency and improved environmental impact by setting precise open and closed periods.

The Screens module controls energy screens, optimizing energy savings while maintaining an optimal greenhouse climate.

How Does This Functionality Work?

The Screens module predicts the best moments to open and close the screens to maximize energy efficiency. These predictions are based on greenhouse and meteo data, which Crop Controller continuously learns from. The final behavior is fine-tuned by the screen preferences set in the portal.

Crop Controller supports multiple energy screens and optimizes their operation for energy savings. However, shading and blackout functions remain managed by the climate computer.

How to Set Your Screen Preferences

  1. To align screen settings with your climate strategy, follow these steps:
    • Access the settings via the screen icon in the sidebar.
    • If multiple screens are available, select the desired screen from the dropdown menu.
  2. Set preferences for periods when the screen is open:
    • Define the minimum duration for an open period.
    • (Optional) Set an offset to sunrise to force an earlier screen opening.
  3. Set preferences for periods when the screen is closed:
    • Define the minimum duration for a closed period.
    • (Optional) Set a fixed period to force screen closure.
